Inclusion Services presently has houses in the community, serving individuals in traditional residential models. We presently serve all levels of intellectual challenges, as well as secondary disabilities such as cerebral palsy, deafness, blindness, hypothermia, seizures, ulcers, autism, challenging behaviors, aggression, Chron’s Disease, scoliosis, depression, OCD, spastic quadriplegia, schizophrenia, and asthma.
Our Community Supports- GH Services also has three noteworthy distinctions: We make great efforts to ensure family centered program and continue the family ties of the individuals served, by including his/her family in all aspects of the person’s life to the limits of their desires; We tailor the services provided to meet the expressed and unexpressed goals, desire, wishes of the individual. We believe strongly in getting people out of the house and involved in the community if they are willing. Services may be provided to no more than four (4) individuals in one home unless approved by the DDA.
Community Living – Group Home services shall be provided for at least 6 hours a day to an individual or when the individual spends the night in the residential home.
Community Living—Group Home services are not available at the same time as the direct provision of Career Exploration, Community Development Services, Community Living-Enhanced Supports, Day Habilitation, Employment Services, Medical Day Care, Nursing Consultation, Nursing Health Case Management, Personal Supports, Respite Care Services, Shared Living, Supported Living, or Transportation services.
(Scope)
Community Living Group Home services provide the individual with development and maintenance of skills related to activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, and socialization, through application of formal teaching methods in a community residential setting.
- Skills to be developed or maintained under this service will be determined based on the individual’s individualized goals and outcomes as documented in his or her person-centered plan.
- Formal teaching methods are used such as systematic instruction.
- This service will provide the individual with opportunities to develop skills related to activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, and vocation and socialization including:
- Learning socially acceptable behavior;
- Learning effective communication;
- Learning self-direction and problem solving;
- Engaging in safety practices;
- Performing household chores in a safe and effective manner;
- Performing self-care; and
- Learning skills for employment.
- This service includes Nursing Case Management and Delegation Services
Community Living Group Home services include coordination, training, supports, or supervision (as indicated in the Person-Centered Plan) related to development and maintenance of the individual’s skills. Transportation to and from and within this service is included within the services. Transportation will be provided or arranged by the licensed provider and funded through the rate system. The licensee shall use the mode of transportation which achieves the least costly, and most appropriate, means of transportation for the individual with priority given to the use of public transportation when appropriate.
(Setting and Location)
Services are provided in Inclusion Services Inc’ homes owned or rented within Montgomery County and Prince Georges County and operated as a home setting.
(Staff Training)
Staff working for or contracted with the agency as well as volunteers utilized in providing any direct support services or spend any time alone with an individual must meet the following minimum standards:
- Be at least 18 years old;
- Have required credentials, license, or certification as noted below;
- Possess current First Aid and CPR certification;
- Pass a criminal background investigation and any other required background checks and credentials;
- Complete necessary pre/in-service training based on the Person-Centered Plan;
- Complete the training designated by DDA. All new hires must complete the DDA required training prior to independent service delivery, and at least every three years
- Possess a valid driver’s license, if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to provide services;
- Have automobile insurance for all automobiles that are owned, leased, and/or hired and used in the provision of services.
Inclusion Services requires the very best qualities in direct care staff. Direct Care Staff in all of our service areas, whether full or part-time are trained in all aspects listed below. In addition to the required DDA training, in order to be hired by the Agency a person must pass an initial drug screening and random drug tests throughout their period of employment. They also must pass a criminal records check, driving records check, and provide three work references which are scrupulously checked.
As part of the pre-employment process, prospective staff are required to take basic skills testing for math, reading, healthy food menu building, computer skills knowledge, and a writing sample. If a person fails to meet any of these requirements, he/she will not be hired by the company.

Additional trainings are provided based on the individual needs of the person receiving services.
A number of staff are Certified Medication Technicians and would be able to administer medications off site, as needed. Special needs for some individuals may include blood glucose checks, dietary needs, toileting, etc. and will be accommodated for during the day. Staffing will be coordinated by the respective Program Manager.
