Mission Statement

The mission of Inclusion Services Inc. is “We commit ourselves to providing caring and quality service for individuals with intellectual disabilities based on an individual’s uniqueness and tailored to meet their needs, while empowering self-advocacy and encouraging all in making choices so that they may participate as they choose in all aspects of their life in the community.” Inclusion Services Inc. provides all services to individuals based upon the individuals’ choices and preferences as aligned to DDA regulations and COMAR.

Vision

Inclusion Services, Inc. is committed to each individual in our care to enable all individuals with intellectual disabilities to exercise the philosophy of Inclusion Services Inc., providing person centered services to all individuals, regardless of circumstances, empowering to have inherent worth and the right to be treated with dignity. Inclusion Services Inc. believes individuals with intellectual disabilities should be encouraged to exercise and enjoy the rights guaranteed to them as citizens. This underlying philosophy is made clearer by the following:

  • All individuals have gifts and contributions to their community.
  • All individuals have opportunities to participate in community life with fellow citizens and develop a sense of belonging to the community.
  • All individuals have the right to have friends and relationships of their choice.
  • All individuals with intellectual disabilities are supported in advocating for themselves and in making responsible and reasonable choices when making decisions about their lives.

About Inclusion Services Inc.

Inclusion Services was founded in response to the realization of a group of parents whose children with disabilities had limited community resources and services for supports that allowed for integration and socialization after existing and transitioning from the State of Maryland High School’s special education curriculum. These parents banded together to devise a program to enable their children and other unnerved children to become gainfully employed adults. Inclusion Services (formerly Sykesville Woods) was incorporated as a Non-Profit Corporation in 1998 and began supporting five graduating students in October of 2010. In 2010 Inclusion Services initiated Residential Services, Respite Services; Community Living Services (Personal Supports) expanding into Day programing. Our services are primarily in Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties however Inclusion Services is not limited to providing services beyond those counties.
Our main headquarters are located at 229 Washington Blvd S. Laurel, Maryland, MD 20707 this office supports our meaningful day services programs. Additionally, housed at our headquarters, are the administrative components for our organization.
Inclusion Services currently supports over 30 customers in a community-based setting ensuring each with Person Centered Plans and goals that enable them to be independent as possible and are focused on the individual’s choices. Individuals will have opportunity to choose activities they desire so they can engage in multiple activities as well as utilizing other community resources and programs to participate. All individuals will have their desires expressed within their Personal Centered Plan as well as regularly with the employment program director. All supports will be provided in a community setting.
